"Banyan Street" A special thank you today for the generosity of Laura and Andy Duymovic. Andy and Laura are friends with Bill and Pat Gittins who, as many of you know, lost everything in the fire, including all of the art that Bill was going to show during Art Trails. Bill talked about Roses of Resilience with Andy and Laura, and then they visited me during Art Trails. Laura and Andy contributed to the cause and bought a rose painting. Shortly after Art Trails ended, they asked if they could contribute more to the effort by purchasing canvas for me. Zak and Kristen at Village Art had already covered that, so instead, Laura and Andy sent me a check that will be used to buy the canvases I will use to replace all of my art that people lost in the fire. Thank you, Laura and Andy!
"Fox Haven Farm" named by Wendy Schwartz, "a lovely farmhouse on Riebli road with a white fence that would decorate with lights at Christmas and was always so lovely to drive by any time of year. One of those "If I own the lottery I would love a place like that" properties."
"San Sonita Drive" named for some very good friends who lost their home, a lifetime collection of mementos, and more than just "stuff." My heart goes out to you, Steve and Linda.
Today's rose is titled "Coffey Lane." Many of those who bought rose paintings left me with the option of choosing the name. I have named several after the addresses and streets of friends who lost their homes. My intent in naming the roses after streets, friends, landmarks, etc., is to honor those who lost so much, and to spread some beauty around in a very difficult time. Please help me honor some of your family and friends by suggesting titles for the roses I have been left to name. The names will take on even greater meaning with such a personal connection. You can make the suggestion here. If you have my email, I'd welcome that as well. If you could, and if you feel comfortable doing so, please share something about the family, friend, landmark, etc.
